Why Netmeg loves Raven Tools

For someone who lives in Michigan — where there’s ice aplenty — Meg Geddes has an unusual addiction to ice water. “I almost always only drink ice water, with a ton of ice. I hyperventilate if there’s no ice,” she said. “I carry ice around with me.”

Okay, so she likes to keep her cool. As the president of two companies, Michigan Integrated Solutions and Netmeg Inc., that’s a pretty important. Meg uses Raven Tools to manage internet marketing work for small business clients.

Which Raven tool do you use most often?
SERP Tracker and the competitor tools. Because they save me time better spent doing other things. I am a HUGE fan of stuff that saves me time. Right now I am shepherding several e-commerce clients through large site relaunches. Raven has also been very valuable for that, tracking befores and afters.

Which Raven tool saves you the most time?
See #1. I also really like the ability to tag keywords; one of my clients has just tons and tons of them, and it’s very helpful to put multiple tags on them so I can look at them in different ways.

Which one of the Raven tools are people stupid for not using?
The competitor tools! You best believe they’re spying on you, so you better be spying on them! It’s also great to find out that some competitors may not be be doing as well as they’d like us to believe.

What’s your Raven Tools pet peeve?
Well, I’m still waiting for the Grooveshark integration.

How long did it take you to become a Raven Tools whiz?
I’m still working on it, but if it’s any help, it took me about 10 minutes after I signed up for the demo to realize I needed this badly, and my client about the same before he wanted me to sign him up, too.

In which we get personal

If you’re stranded on a desert island, what three things do you bring with you?
Cigarettes (I quit five years ago, but if I’m on an island, fer crysakes, what the hell), my iPods (I have one of each, and multiples of several) and my cat. (I’m assuming this island is already decked out with internetz and 30” screen workstations, of course.)

Who is your hero?
Mandy, of course.

iPhone, BlackBerry or Droid?
BlackBerry. I need a keyboard.

What’s the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Northern Michigan in the summer.

What’s your dream job?
I’m doing it.
