Welcome Twitter People

I arrived in San Francisco early this afternoon, checked into my hotel, and headed down to Moscone West to register for the conference. Much to my surprise, I met Daniel Jalkut in the H – J line. He was just as nice in person as I had expected after reading his blog for so long. He’s going to be speaking at the Apple Store on Wednesday at 7pm as part of a CocoaHeads meeting. Be sure to stop by if you’re in the area.

After dinner with Collin, I got back to my room to find a flood of emails from Jon and Scott. Turns out our little WWDC live blog experiment has been featured on the front page of Twitter. Woo! Welcome, everyone. I’ll be blogging the keynote live tomorrow at 10am. We’ve setup a system to push out updates to both our Amazon S3 page and to our Sitening Twitter account. This is going to let us reach a ton of people without worrying about bandwidth, infrastructure, etc. Tomorrow’s going to be an exciting day. I can’t wait. See you online at 10am!

I’ll be writing up a detailed blog post about how and why we chose Amazon and Twitter. Look for it later today.

Jeff, It did go very well. We’re definitely planning on reporting on its success and how it handled the traffic. It’s also inspired us to think about ways to extend this further.

Hi, the blog experiment appeared to work really well.

It would be interesting to hear your side of the story — are there any usage stats or S3 costs that you can share?
