The Greatest iPhone App You Don’t Have

The Greatest iPhone App You Don’t Have

Sometimes there are ideas, and then sometimes there are ideas that just have to be made. Over what I can only assume were geek beers, the idea for Purr was born and as of today can be obtained from the iTunes Music Store.

Designed by our Guru of Everything™ Scott Holdren, the Purr application for your iPhone or iPod Touch gives you the ability to pet your cat. Yup, you read that right, pet your cat. If you are ever away from home and just feel the need to pet your cat, Purr hooks you up with not only a picture of your cat to pet, but something that vibrates and purrs when you pet it. Sounds like the greatest iPhone app ever made doesn’t it? We thought so.

If you have any features you’d like to see added to Purr, just hit us up in the comments and let us know. We’ve already got a few ideas on our own, so be on the lookout for a frequently updated Purr. The best cat purring app on the interweb.

My wife is a veterinarian, so you know that we have lots and lots of different animals. I put this app on her phone, and she loved it instantly. Her next comment was “do they have one that screams like a Cockatoo? (we have cockatoos, also).

My suggestion would be to add the ability to record the sound the critter makes to use instead of the purr. That way a snake owner could record a hiss, a dog owner could record a bark, etc.

Purr is the greatest app ever. I keep switching out pictures between kitties and my coffee mug.

Hopefully recording your own sound will come in a future release. Thanks for the feedback, and glad you are liking Purr!

Wow, I feel really stupid, but how do I make it a picture of my own cat? When I get into the application, it just shows that huge orange default cat. Thanks– p.s. I tried pressing the little "i" in the lower right, but all it did was make the cat purr out of control. lol! I have an iPhone version 1 if that helps

When you hit the “i” button, it should take you to a screen that will allow you to take a photo on your own. If you’re having issues, try turning your phone off and back on again to reset it. If you’re still having issues, let us know!

I love this app. Would be awesome if you could have several pets stored with different audio. I have three cats and the current audio sounds like one of them but I would like to have all my cats readly available preset. Thanks
