New feature: Raven launches Research Central, a dream SEO research mashup tool
SEO research has never been convenient.
In the early days of SEO, you had to visit several websites to gather (sometimes sketchy) intelligence data, and then you had to decide which data was relevant, and then you had to export it, and then you had to mash it all together in a spreadsheet to make sense of it, and then you had to do your SEO work.
But there was still one problem: all that great data wasn’t in one spot. You couldn’t look at it in one place and make quick, simple comparisons to do better work. Basically, SEO research still wasn’t convenient.
Today, Raven launches Research Central. Research Central is a next-generation SEO research tool that mashes up Majestic SEO, SEOmoz and SEMRush data. You can view the data in one location. It’s not just simple keyword and competitor analysis. It’s deep data about any domain’s external and internal keywords; a variety of trust and authority scores; big, little and unexpected competitors; top pages; backlinks; link histories; social metrics; IP neighborhoods and more. All that data, in one place, and downloadable.
Now SEO research is a lot more convenient.
It all begins with a Summary
If you’re already using Raven as a Pro or Agency customer, go to Research > Websites > Research Central. (If not, sign up for our free 30-day trial, which includes access to Research Central.)
Enter any domain into Research Central’s search box, and the first page you’ll see is the Site Summary. Raven generates a screenshot of the site you’re researching and displays results for the domain’s Authority/Ranking, Social Metrics, Site Metrics and Keyword metrics.
The Summary page’s quick snapshot of the site pulls its data from SEMRush, Majestic SEO and SEOmoz, as well as Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.
We realize that everyone is interested in different metrics, so we made the Summary page completely customizable. There are about two dozen additional metrics available; to turn them on, go to the Gear icon in the tool.
You can reorder or remove (and re-add) any data block from the list.
In addition to the data blocks, the Summary page also displays a chart for historical link data and backlink distribution.
The ultimate keyword mashup
After the Summary page, head over to the Keywords tab. The Keywords page displays a mashup of external keywords from Majestic SEO and SEOmoz. Alternatively, if you choose to view the internal keywords for the site, it displays data from SEMRush.
Any keywords or domains that you have already added to Raven’s Keyword Manager or Competitor Manager will display the “Added” label. The same is also true if you’re tracking them with the Raven SERP Tracker.
All the data you want, the way you want it
Besides external and internal keywords for any site, Research Central also reports on competitors, top pages, backlinks and IP neighborhoods. It even lets you compare up to four other sites with the site you’re researching.
Honestly, there’s so much data that we won’t even try to walk you through it all—just go and explore and you’ll see.
But there are two important things you’ll like.
First, the data in Research Central can be pushed and saved to other tools on the Raven platform. For example, you can save a keyword to the Keyword Manager and/or start tracking it on the SERP Tracker.
Second (and cheers to all of you who still love those spreadsheets…), all of the data is exportable. You can export specific data from the table or export everything using the Export button.
