How to Play RavenHunt

RavenHuntRavenHunt II launched today, and we’ve had a few people confused on how to play the game so I thought I’d compose the game manual for you all. Don’t worry, I’ll keep it short and to the point!

Quick Start Guide

1. Monitor Raven’s Facebook & Twitter accounts for daily clues
2. Find the Secret Messages to advance to the next level
3. Winners will be announced on Monday, April 5th

Objective

The objective of RavenHunt is to solve the two riddles you are given each day. When you solve a riddle you are given one (or more) of the following:

  • A letter to the secret word you’ll need to spell at the end of the contest
  • The name of the next blog the next clue will be hidden on

Riddles

Riddles are designed to direct you to where clues are hidden on both blogs and Raven properties. You will receive two riddles each day, one on Facebook and one on Twitter.

Facebook riddles will help direct you to the specific blog post the clue (a link) is hidden on, as well as where within that blog post the clue is hidden. Clues can be hidden on everything from words, to punctuation to even down in the comments!

Twitter riddles will be sent to you via direct message (DM) once you have tweeted to @RavenTools that you found that day’s RavenHunt clue. Clues are hidden somewhere on a Raven property. That includes everything from the Raven website to social properties like Facebook.

Secret Word

When you find a clue you’re given a letter that you’ll later use to unscramble a secret word. Some days you may only get one letter, but be prepared to get multiple letters on a single clue! The secret word may be more than one word long or it may be a single word. You’ll have to figure that out on your own.

Prizes

Prizes are awarded on a first come, first serve basis. One the final day of a RavenHunt (a Friday) you’ll be asked to submit your decoded word along with your email address into a form provided on the page you found that day. You will only be able to submit the form if you correctly decoded the message. The first correct entry submitted wins the grand prize!
